Sitting all day, what is happening to my body?

Sitting too long is not healthy, but we all do it repeatedly day after day. To help with aches and pains get up and move around every hour if possible or every 90mins for sure. Basically, your body needs to move- often to work optimally, otherwise we tend to slouch, lean, tense our shoulders and stay in unnatural positions for long periods of time. This leads to a lot of aches and pains and the way your body processes sugars, and hormone functions to mention just a few. Get up and walk around often for a few minutes at least. Standing desks are a nice option if your company offers it, ask if they would consider it. When you sit less and work on strengthening the right muscles are key. Targeting your core muscles helps maintain proper sitting posture. Try these little things that make a big difference. Have a great work day and move around to help with many issues that otherwise cause ill effects that can be avoided by simple movement through out the work day.

Let’s all just say it comes around so fast, am I right? So I’m going to try my best to make each day count in even a small way. My thoughts are to be present like live in the now, work out with some kind of movement, eat many beautiful colored foods and learn about some tasty protein packed grains/legumes. Also cook these foods to share and get feedback from others. 

Let’s set goals that are consistently achievable, and don’t be too hard on yourself. Smaller changes can make big differences when practiced often. Regular massages boost your immune system to help fight off all kinds of infections and revive a sluggish System. So try to incorporate them in your life often. Hawaii is a magical place

Kris and I just got home to Utah after being in Maui for 7 days. It was a wonderful time, we had our friend Janet with us who has been there before. Here are just a few of our pictures to enjoy. Now it’s back to work because the stress is out there, it just slowed down a little for us while in Hawaii. Thanks everyone for rearranging your time for appointments so we could have this much needed time off.

I do love rainy days. They are relaxing and refreshing. The only time it’s not so relaxing is when you have to drive or plan events around the weather. Then afterwards we can enjoy a rainbow if we’re lucky.

Happy Chair Yoga

I am loving Happy Chair Yoga it’s a program on Chan 9 on Tuesdays and Thursdays @8:30am. It’s very gentle and slow, with amazing benefits. Try it if you are hesitant to trying yoga or any exercise. It is a great place to start. We must keep moving, even if we are in some pain. Don’t over do any exercise, but do something everyday. Try it and let me know what you think. Maybe give me some of your suggestions for movement. Thx
